Love your Work
Bodywork is a calling. It's a grounding and fulfilling career and a very practical part-time job. At the end of the day, you have real evidence of your ability to wholeheartedly help people. Whether you're a science nerd, athlete, yogi, mom, or self-professed healer, this is a wonderful job. Consider joining our IN-THE-HOUSE-training program to become a licensed massage therapist.
*Next program starts September 15th, 2024
How does it work?
We've partnered with Academy of Health in Milwaukee. The academic portion is conducted primarily online (anatomy & physiology, etc) and via optional Zoom meetings. The HANDS -ON portion is taught by the licensed and experienced therapists at Door County Massage. We meet 4 hours a week for about 10 months. All your clinical hours can be gained in-house under our supervision. Once you pass the MBLEX exam, you'll become a licensed massage therapist.
Tell me More
Dr. Jeffrey Montoya PHD, a therapist and instructor from Milwaukee, WI recognized the demand for massage therapists was not being met. A lot of people interested in the field are deterred by the hurdle of finding the time to attend a massage school. He has created a curriculum to bridge that gap. He has empowered other experienced therapists and larger spas to bring training in-house with a flexible and convenient training schedule. It's a self-paced program that prepares you to take the National Exam (MBLEX), coupled with hands-on training to qualify you for a License in the state of Wisconsin.
Is this right for Me?
People are drawn to the profession for different reasons. Maybe you are a mom looking for a flexible part-time-yet lucrative job, maybe you're interested in helping athletes achieve optimal performance, or maybe you'd like to enhance your existing career. There are many directions you can go as a massage therapist. It's a skill you can take wherever you go. The therapists at Door County Massage have many years of experience and offer a practical and elite apprenticeship.
